Retirement/IRA Gifts
Are you over 70½ years old and need to take a required minimum distribution from your traditional IRA? It is simple to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution, or QCD, as a direct transfer from your IRA to MAPS. A QCD may help you avoid taxes and will support our animals at MAPS. Just ask your financial adviser for more information and their QCD request form. Our Federal ID# (EIN) is 45-3854527.

Endowment Fund
Gifts to the MAPS Endowment Fund with the Marshfield Area Community Foundation (MACF) last a lifetime and will ensure a permanent income stream for our mission. An endowment is a permanent investment that grows over time. Each year, a portion of the fund can be distributed to our cause. Rather than a one-time gift, an endowment continually generates resources that will be available forever.

Workplace Giving & Matching Gifts
Employee match programs are a benefit that companies offer to encourage and reward giving among their staff. Most companies will match an employee’s gift to a charity one-to-one, but others match gifts even more. This means that your gift to MAPS can be worth two to four times as much as you donate!
Not sure if your employer offers a charitable match? Check with your human resource office.

How Can You Donate?
Festival sells $5 and $10 donation cards at the front-end of the cashier registers. Give your card to the cashier, and your donation will be added to your grocery total.
Every 4 months, Festival notifies us with the amount donated. We can then shop for needed supplies for our animals at their store.

Donor Advised Funds
A donor-advised fund, or DAF, allows you to make charitable contributions as you wish, receive an immediate tax benefit and then recommend grants from the fund over time. Please consult with your financial adviser to see if this may be a good solution for you, especially with recent tax changes related to charitable deductions.

Beneficiary Designations
IRAs, retirement plans, life insurance policies, and bank accounts allow you to name a beneficiary on those accounts. Naming MAPS as a beneficiary allows assets to pass directly to the shelter. You’ll decide what percentage (from 1% to 100%) you would like the shelter to receive. We can be a primary or contingent beneficiary and are grateful for any percentage you choose.

Stock & Securities Giving
Make a larger impact by gifting stock and donating long-term appreciated securities, including stock, bonds, and mutual funds, directly to MAPS. Compared with donating cash, or selling your appreciated securities and contributing the after-tax proceeds, you may potentially increase your gift and tax donation.
